Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for details.
A senior representative said the attack made him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
